All the Pretty Blossoms!

 I have been making friends here.  Mostly because they keep inviting me to do things and I occasionally say yes out of guilt or actual interest. Several of them were going to go out and see the Cherry Blossoms.  I do love me some Cherry Blossoms, and I knew there was no way I was going to drive an hour to see them myself, so I hopped on board the chance to go without having to do any actual work.

We drove a bit over an hour north to Nago to a mountain, with a name I can't recall.  There were little roads all up and down the mountain and they were lined with gloriously blooming trees.  They are not the same as my lovely Iwakuni Cherry Trees, so I'm not entirely sure if they are a different type of Cherry Blossom, or if it was really the Ume blossoms.  I figured it did not really matter because they were so gorgeous!  We strolled around a bit and drove around a bit.  It was cold and windy and a little drizzly.  But I will agree that it was worth the effort.  Plus, it was a lot of fun to hang out with some great ladies.

Sunday Silliness

It was a quiet, lazy Sunday afternoon. And then this happened.

And listening to the girls play "Man Bites Dog" was a hoot.  They are sadly lacking in political knowledge. But full of silliness.

Miscellaneous

Our foster puppy Percy got adopted!  He has a new family that loves him and we wish him a very happily Ever After with them. 

I took a letter to Delaney and Rylee's friends while I was in Iwakuni and they rushed to get me a collection of letters and cute things that made for my girls before I left.  Delaney was thrilled with this adorable pencil topper her friend made for her. 

I am a dork, and was totally disoriented upon arriving back from Iwakuni that I picked Josh up an hour early for his dental appointment.  I drove the 45 minutes to get there before realizing my mistake. So we went to lunch and explored the base. Then, the dentist office was so crazy, we waited another hour before Josh saw the orthodontist.  It was a very dull afternoon.  And We both needed a nap.  However, only one of us got to take one.

Levi was so cute, snoozing on the couch that I had to get a picture. 

The girls later managed to entice him (or maybe they manhandled him?) into this box.  He is such a good natured dog!

 An this is my pile of Kimonos I mailed back to myself from Iwakuni!  Let the sewing commence!

I'm so excited to be on the plane!  I'm sitting in row 5, and no one else is in my row.  It is pretty sweet. 

Did I mention how much I love my friend April?  She took me out for Okonomiyaki, because she knows how much I love it. And Okinawa just doesn't know how to make it right.

 And April drove me up to the big recycle center to look for treasures.  It was so cold it was trying to snow.

This is what I have to check to see if any flights are leaving in the next 24 hours. Yay for all the flights going out on Wednesday!

 Almost home now.

 And my cute hubby came to pick me up and drive me home.

At the Beach

 Callie kept asking if we could take Levi to the beach.  I finally had a Saturday that was perfect. So we went down to Sunset Beach. And we brought Levi.

The tide was in, so this was about all the beach available in this area.  The girls decided it was sufficient, so we stayed.

These two got to work building sand castles.

 Callie enjoyed wading.  She also found some fun shells.

This isn't just any old sandcastle, it is Mt Vesuvius!  They are building a volcano. 

They had a very good time.

Levi did have a marvelous time sniffing the fun new smells and exploring.  However, he was not a fan of the dog-eating waves that tried to sneak up on him.
