First Middle School Dance

My kids have typically been entirely uninterested in school dances.  However, that has changed this year.  Callie is in NJHS and that organization was in charge of the Halloween Dance.  Since Callie had to be involved and felt the need to support and attend, Delaney thought it might be fun.  Callie may have talked Delaney into it so Callie wouldn't be alone.

And they were not alone.  Most of the YW ended up going, so they had a crowd to hang out with.  And they said it was a good time.  I had given Callie a phone to call home if she needed to leave early.  She called to say she did not want to come home early!

Dressed and ready to go!

Levi photobombing this picture is the best thing ever!

Posing with Levi.

Callie tok pictures at the dance.  Delaney had fun.

Sisters selfie.

Very dark selfie with her friend!

Crazy Hair Day!

It was Crazy Hair Day at school.  Rylee wanted to go wild, but I did not have enough time or creativity to make anything spectacular happen.  So we did silly ponytails.  Then I colored her hair green and purple in the front.  She was happy.

Homecoming

Josh went to Homecoming.  He has a girlfriend named Leah that he went with, and a bunch of other friends.  They all went down to the Sea Wall for pre-dance photos.  Sunset is quite gorgeous over the water, but it sure doesn't make for good lighting when you want to see people's faces.

The Beach.... Again!

Marian specifically asked to go to White Beach.  She wanted to walk out to the little rock islands.  So  we planned to go on Saturday. I woke up with an ugly headache, so Dan took 3 girls (Delaney didn't want to go) and off they went to play.  They had a very successful trip and had a marvelous time.  And Dan took these photos.

This week's happenings

Rylee got to go to the dentist again this week.  She got two crowns right next to each other and it was a long process.  She was awesome for it.

I went to lunch with her at school the next day and brought her an oreo shake in case her teeth were still tender.  They were, a little.
(And then the crown that was causing problems fell out late that day and we had to go back in Friday morning to get it put back on.  It fits much better now!)

I figure I must be an okay person, if I have amazing friends who send me awesome stuff like this pie plate!  The pie plate says "Pie fixes everything" and the pie slicer says "Any way you slice it".  I got it in the mail and felt so loved!

Marian's patriarchal blessing came in the mail.  It was wonderful.

This is Josh's super sad face.  He is so, so very sad.

He shattered his phone screen.  It was a rough day for him.

Dining Out

I took the girls out to Chili's before the General Women's Broadcast.  While we were out doing that, Dan took Josh to the Sushi-go-round for dinner.  These are the pictures Dan and I texted to each other.  We have awesome kids!

At the Beach

We had a long weekend with Columbus Day, followed by a Teacher Workday.  The girls wanted to go to the beach on Tuesday, since there was no school.  So we headed out to Glass Beach.  Callie wanted to bring Levi, and we squeezed him in the car too. Somehow the pictures are just slightly out of order, and I lack the motivation to figure it out.  So, in no particular order, I present the documentation of the day!

The tide was out and there was lots of beach for beach combing.  And playing.

Some girls sulked because their moms were not fast enough responding to take their photos.  and some photos are smudgy because when you tuck it inside your top so your hands are free.... sometimes you forget the camera lens may need to be wiped off before using it.

Levi had a marvelous time running around.  Here he is, taking a break from the fun.  It was warm and he was hot and the cool sand felt good on his belly.

It was so pretty and the pictures do not look as gorgeous as real life.

Marian did dash off into the water and fully submerged.

And there were plenty of photo ops.

Callie lured Levi in the water this far, but he wasn't about to voluntarily swim again!  Belly deep was as far as he wanted to get in.

More posing!

They enjoyed this little rocky outcropping that was like a little island.

And they had to cram into this to get a photo.

I was surprised at how far up this hillside the girls were able to get Levi to go.

But if it was there, it had to be climbed!  And I had to get a picture.

King of the Mountain!

Delaney had a good time making sandcastles and playing in the sand while the others mountain climbed.

They did play a bit in the water too.

My obligatory "I was there" selfie.

 My awesome ladies!
