Space World!

The ITT office offered a trip to the Japanese amusement park, Space World.  I heard it is closing the end of the year, so it seemed like a fine idea to go check it out before we leave and before it closes.  I took Callie, Delaney and Rylee with me.  My fabulous friend April and her family went as well.  Actually, she may have been the one who suggested we go....

The rest stops are always fun.

Rylee wanted a photo by the pretty flowers.

On the little Roller Coaster.  Delaney wasn't sure about it.  And Rylee was sure she hated it.

Pretty cool!

They did have a nice space theme going on.

Look!  She's an astronaut!

Rylee posing for me.

Did I mention the fun space theme?!

This bouncy area was the girls' favorite thing.

I don't know who most of the characters were, but they were cute.

No idea who this guy behind me is, but I was there!

The kiddie rides were just Rylee's speed and she enjoyed them a lot.

The signs were fun... and sometimes really funny.

The tea cups is always one of my favorites!

And these tea cups were especially loose and you could spin SO fast!  I thought we might fly out!  And the funny thing is, the Japanese really do not spin in them at all.

I know, it looks boring, but Rylee loved it.

I think Delaney just liked honking the incredibly annoying horn.

I loved this carousel.  The horses were exactly as you would imagine carousel horses to look.

The planes also had incredibly annoying sounds.  But apparently they were much fun to ride.

I did have to ride in them once, with Rylee, who was afraid.  I barely fit.  Then Rylee decided they were fun and rode them 3 more times by herself.

You can't tell, but this slide is almost a straight drop to the skid marks.  Rylee thought about it and then noped out of there.

It is hot and she wants a drink.

Callie took off to ride the roller coasters, so that's why there are few photos of her.  I caught her on this ride- the red sweater- before she noticed and ducked.

I got her again on the water ride.

Aack!  She has spotted me!

And it was back to the bouncy moon.

Look at the height on that jump!

Callie and Rylee had a to of fun here.

Heh heh heh!  I love Callie's bounce and Rylee's falling.

One last ride on the planes.

And April snuck a shot of me as I waited.

Back on the cars... last ride!

A Little of this and that

There are some random photos on my phone that need to be addressed.  So here they are.

Delaney was having a little too much fun with the YouCam app.

 Super cute blanket I finished.

Yummy 60 Minute Dinner Rolls I made for Mother's Day dinner, which made me think how lucky  I am that my mom taught me how to make them.

Levi, hoping for some loves.

And he's not sure about this picture business.

The small spot of gunk (gum? some kind of solid goo) on the carpet that Housing wanted to charge us to replace the ENTIRE carpet for.  Yeah, I showed them.  I scrubbed it off with a toothbrush using Lemon oil and thieves cleaner.

Rylee in her eye patch.  She has to patch each day for 2 hours and she has been incredibly diligent about it.  She has several different colors and patterns and it cracks me up when she matches them.

Joshua's Play

I am so proud of my boy! He was in the school production of "A MidSemester Night's Dream", a play written by his drama teacher. It was really good. Josh played the part of the arrogant basketball player, who is in love with the pretty girl, but the neurotic girl is in love with him.  And the pretty girl is in love with his teammate, who is also in love with the pretty girl.  Slightly confusing, but fun! I was quite impressed.

Lamenting his love for the girl.... that his friend is also in love with.

Okay, I forgot to take more pictures, because I was engrossed in the play.

Intermission shennanegins

Being rebuffed by the uninterested girl.

Trying to convince her he is the only one for her.

 Unsuccessfully wooing.

Suddenly in love with the neurotic girl who is in love with him.

But his friend has also been given the love potion and now wants the same neurotic girl.

Awaking from the dream.

The great posters for the play.

My boy!  I kind of love him!

A Little fun at Mess Night

Dan invited me to his Mess Night.  I did not want to go.  But he persuaded me, so I finally agreed to go with him.  I am so glad I did!

Getting ready to go.

I was so happy my friends April and Steph were there as well.  It did make the night more fun.

Seated at the table and enjoying appetizers, but still sweating a little because you don't know who will get busted for something.

The photo that cost Dan $2 and a cup of Grog.  The man in the middle is "Mr Vice", the guy who picks out who gets into trouble.  As we were doing appetizers, he was roaming and checking and visiting.  He stopped at our table and demanded a selfie, since my phone was on the table.  So we did a selfie.   Later, he called on everyone who had taken a selfie with him to go get Grog and be fined $2.  Since we, as the spouses, didn't have to do it,  our husbands had to.  Oops!

Fancy schmancy dinner.

April's husband, Milt, hamming it up with Dan after the trip to the Grog due to the photo.

Mr. Vice did a great job.  He called out a Marine for having his uniform too tight and made him dance to prove his pants wouldn't split (they did not).  He called out the PMO group for wanting to be super heros and made them wear plastic fireman hats.  He made PMO and another shop have a dance-off to decide an argument.  There were accusations that facilities was withholding AC in buildings and that someone wasn't paying their bills.  A Marine was called out for not wearing an award, and there was much hilarity when a Marine was accused of downloading a Michael Jackson song during the speaker's talk and demanded to perform it.  And Grog was consumed.

Dan said the non-alcoholic grog seemed to be V-8 and tabasco sauce with popcorn and cabbage in it.  The other tuff apparently had cheetos and something else gross in it.  Someone was fined and made to drink more for not drinking a full cup the first time.  Dan had to go up two more times as a mass punishment and not for any infraction on his part- tables were accused of not reporting the grog-dipper, so they (including Dan) all had to pay a penny and drink grog.  Then our table and several others were accused of not being good Marines since no one at these tables had made any accusations.  So they had to go drink again.  Dan said the first time wasn't bad.  But after the third guzzle, it was no fun at all.

This is our neighbor, the station chaplain.  He is a neat guy.  He was also 15 minutes late. (And it wasn't really his fault.  He had flown in from a trip just before the event.)  As punishment, he had to wear this vest and guard the door for the rest of the evening.

I confess, it is anxiety-inducing to be eating dinner and wondering if your husband is going to get in "trouble" for something, and not knowing if you are about to screw up and cause him to be fined or drink the nasty stuff. It was side-splitting and fun, but a relief as well when that portion ended, dessert was served, a speaker spoke, toasts were toasted.  Just before the toasting though, I got a text that Callie was sick.  I felt bad that we had to make her wait till after the toasts, but I couldn't leave in the middle!  We dashed out as soon as we possibly could.  Callie was indeed not feeling well and had been throwing up.  She had a migraine and that was giving her tummy troubles.  She went to bed and was fine by morning.

Aside from the abrupt ending, it was a good time!
