Poor Rylee!

Poor Rylee.  She got the one baby tooth out, and later got another one out.  But she still had 5 to go.  And 2 of them were NOT going to come out on their own. She had two baby molars that had fused to the bone and wouldn't let the big tooth come up and wouldn't come out.  It took me a while to find someone to take them out.  The pediatric and regular dentists said no way, she needs an oral surgeon.

I found a place to take her and they could squeeze her in almost right away.  So Friday morning off we went.  It was mostly fantastic!  The oral surgeon was awesome and I love him. He was super nice and was great with Rylee. They let me stay with her till she was out.  I was able to hold her hand and comfort her as she got the IV and the oral surgeon did an outstanding job with that.  He had it in in 5 seconds and Rylee took it like a champ.  She was unconscious 10 seconds later.

Then they kicked me out.  I had to go wait in the car because of Covid. I had brought my book and was good to go, but they were done in 20 minutes!  He had pulled the two naughty teeth, plus the other top baby molar.  Rylee was crying in the wheelchair.  Poor baby.

I asked the surgeon if he thought she was still loopy enough that I could pull out her loose eyetooth, and he said, "Why didn't you have me pull it?"  I told him that the office said he couldn't without a referral.  He said, "Hand me some gloves!"   He put on the gloves and reached in and popped it right out. Yay for a free tooth extraction!

They wheeled Rylee out to the van and I had to struggle to get her in.  She was so zonked!  She kept mumbling, "I love you!" and it was so pathetic and adorable.

My poor pookie on the way home.  I was glad it was just a mile.

I got her home and settled on the couch and she was so sad. And unhappy to have gross bloody gaze in her mouth.  She watched a few hors of Miraculous, and then felt okay.  I was pretty impressed! She said her mouth didn't hurt and she ate a bit and was fine.  I'm crossing my fingers that she stays fine!

Doings

Delaney and Rylee made their own Halloween costumes.  I thought they were fabulous!

I had just finished a long run at the lake.  I like that the lake has a fantastic paved path around it, but you can also off-road and take the trails instead.  I like to cool down on the trails.  Callie texted as I was doing my cool down.  So I sent her this.

My oldest child also needed a selfie of me.

And i needed to show Callie my new Arm Warmers.  So fun!

I was able to meet up with several friends from Okinawa for lunch.  I love these ladies!

We got to go to real live church and it was chilly.  Rylee wore cute boots.

Callie texted during church to ask if we had real church. So I sent her this.

With Daylight Savings, the sun goes down at 5, so we have to leave earlier to run.  Callie wanted to talk, just as we were heading out to run.  Hence, ANOTHER running selfie!

We did a fun hike that involved tromping around some deer trails for a bit and then enjoying a nice dirt trail. This rock was perfect for a photo.

More Callie Adventures

Callie got to go to Branson, to Silver Dollar City with EVERYONE else but our family. This is the group shot.

Callie had a great time.

And I heard that she was a good helper.

She bounced around, visiting different aunts and uncles and then ended up at her grandfather's house.  He appreciated her cooking.  Especially waffles with strawberries and whip cream.

And he taught her how to wield a chain saw.  So I guess you could say it is going well!

Marian got to go see the orthodontist.  Delaney and Rylee also got to go see the orthodontist.  Marian decided she did not need braces.  Because she doesn't NEED them.  Delaney and Rylee do.  Unfortunately, Rylee has a bunch of baby teeth that need to come out.

The orthodontist that we chose put these rubber bands around the top of three of her loose teeth, like this.  The two eyeteeth did not want to cooperate and tried to stay in.  This little molar was hanging in by a bit ad Rylee wiggled it every day.

Marian got to visit the oral surgeon about her wisdom teeth.  She only has one on the bottom, but it is growing towards the nerve, so it needs to come out sooner, rather than later.

This little cookie finally got the little rubber-banded molar out. It was an arduous process, as you can see by that sad face.

But success was sweet!

More Exciting happenings!

October 24, our storage stuff finally arrived.  This is the stuff that we put into storage over 6 years ago when we left Louisiana for Iwakuni.  I had no idea how well it had faired in the non-temp-controlled storage facility for so long.

We were excited when the truck finally showed up!  They said they had 2400 pounds to deliver.

Funny thing.  This was the first thing they unloaded. And it is not ours.  I've never seen this before in my life.  But I guess it is ours now.

This was the second thing off the truck.  The driver was so apologetic.  He said when they loaded this on the truck he had to double check that they actually intended for him to deliver this in that condition.

I'm pretty sure it fell off the truck once or twice as it went into storage.

Everything else looked okay.  Dirt, musty, a little mildew-smelling, but overall, I was surprised how well it went.  We just had them unload it all into the garage to air out and we thoroughly cleaned things as we prepared to move them to a more permanent home.  We did re-home the washer and dryer set (since the house came with them), two dressers and a nice loft bed.  The bookshelf and 9 book boxes are still in the garage, airing out, three weeks later.  The books are just so smelly!
