One Tired Monkey

Apparently staying up on weekends and getting up early for church is not a great combo.

Sunday Walk on the Sea Wall

Levi loves his Sunday walks!

Delaney joined us too.

Apparently Levi didn't understand what a "Selfie" is.

He is really hoping the ducks will get just a little closer.

Oooohhhh, pretty!

I do love living here.

The sun, setting behind the school.

I'm quilting!!

I went to the Japanese fabric store a few months ago and discovered that they have some of the cutest fabric ever!  I have purchased much too much fabric and have been having a marvelous time quilting baby blankets with it.  I have tried a few different things, but I am quite pleased with them.  So much fun! Check out the ones I have completed:

Last time!

It was Girl Scout Cookie season again!  There were restrictions to selling on base that really cramped our pre-selling.  Plus, they ordered 7,000 cookies.  So there was a lot of cookies to move on a base who's entire population is only 8,000 right now.  Delaney had to sit 2 booths and did a pretty good job.  I loved her technique.  She would pipe up and ask, "How many boxes would you like to buy today?" when people would walk by.  And if they were pulling money out of their pockets she would inform them,  "$20 will buy 5 boxes of cookies!"  and most of the time, they would actually buy the 5 boxes.

As for me, I am really really glad that we sold the last of the cookies last weekend!

Sampling Japanese Chocolates

There was a spouses event a week or so ago.  I was lured to it by the promise of lots of Japanese chocolates to sample.  It did not disappoint!  They went out and purchases just about every Japanese chocolate confection they could find sandpit them all our for us to sample. Most of them were very good.

These were super fun!  It was latticework chocolate.  Like they piped layers of chocolate over each other.  It was tasty.

Orange chocolate.  I'm not a huge fan of contaminating my chocolate with fruit, but these were good.

My plate.... the third time thru!

Sampling the sake flavored kit kat.  Not bad.

Kind of a mini whoopee pie.  Cookie sandwich with a marshmallowy center.

This was a little too weird for me.  Peanut butter chocolate in Mochi.  Mochi is rice that's pounded into a paste.  It has a gelatinous texture, so it is a wee bit odd.

Oreo Pocky?  Yes, please!!  And the little whit balls were delicious.
