Delaney did a thing

This is Delaney.
She has glorious golden tresses that are soft and perfect.  But she was tired of it.

So we went to the hair salon.

The stylist put all the lovely locks into a braid......

...... and cut it all off.

Then she snipped some more.

And even more!

And this is what Delaney wanted and she loves it!
This is the gelled version.

This is the all-natural look.  She loves the coolness, the ease of washing and wearing, and the cuteness.
She's cute.

Exciting times for Callie

Callie had a big birthday.  You know.  The important one!  Well, one of the important ones.

She requested Strawberry Pizza Pie.
Fine.  I like Strawberry Pizza Pie and my birthday is right after HER birthday and I didn't have time to make cheesecake, which is what she wanted, because I didn't have the ingredients.  So we had what I wanted on her birthday and then we made cheesecake later that week.  And both were delicious.

Se, she ate it and she liked it.

And she got good loot.

She's so cute.  I like her.  a lot.

And now she is old enough to start learning to do this!!!!

Mostly Levi. And a little Marian

Levi loves to ride in the car.  Every time I grab the keys, he looks at me hopefully.

So I usually bring him on short trips, like to take Callie to Track practice or to pick up library books.

Today he came along while Marian practiced driving.  She looks so intent, while Levi is having the time of his life!

And this silly dog!  He has been fed. But he will bring his dish all over the house and hope you will take pity on him and feed him more.  Silly dog!

Hiking the Medford Mountain

Adam and Savannah took us on a hike up their mountain.  Actually, we drove most of the way up and hiked a loop around the not-top. We had a really good time and the kids all enjoyed it. It was a lot of fun to hike and chat and see the kids all running around together and having a ball.  I love seeing our kids play well together.

(And then, alas, we went home on Saturday.... another 13.5 hour drive.  But totally worth it!)

Visiting Adam and Savannah

We drove to Adam's house on Saturday.  It a 13.5 hour drive if you keep the stops to a minimum. The girls were amazing, of course and the drive went well.

Here we are, at Subway, waiting to grab a quick sandwich and then hit the road again.

Sunday morning we were ready to go to church with Adam's family!

Marian loved Miley's hat. It IS a very cute hat!

And Miley loved Marian.

Um... this is why they need to collect the sacrament cups immediately, and not wait.  Zoom in on her eyes, if you can't see the problem.

The weather warmed up enough on Wednesday afternoon to use the pool.  Much fun was had.

It was a little chilly, but Callie did eventually make it in.

Rylee had a blast. She's jumping into the ring, but the picture isn't that great.

So much cousin fun!

Liza was like a cat- she wanted to play with you, but only on her terms.  And when she was done, it was immediate and definite.

We trolled the thrift stores in Medford to see what there was to be had.  This was something one of Savannah's kids thought was awesome.  It is awesome.  But it did not come home with us.

We utilized the exercise room and discovered that at 60 minutes, the treadmill automatically kicks you into the 5 minute cool-down mode and you cannot stop it or change it.  Well, you CAN completely stop your workout and start all over again, but then you lose your workout data!

We spent a bit of time at Adam's office.  Marian is waiting for Adam to do two fillings, and Callie is waiting for her cleaning and some sealants.

I got to see Adam in his official capacity as well.  This is my "before" face.  I needed a cavity filled.

Here is my "after" face.  I can't move half of it.  Adam did an excellent job, but it was a big filling and it was not fun. Still, it was better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.

We had a BBQ dinner and S'mores were necessary afterwards.

Sorry, Liza is just so cute!

Much messy enjoyment was had.

I went to Costco with Adam.  I did not know you could pile so much on the cart.  And this wasn't even the end!!!

Adam and Savannah are awesome hosts and we had such a good time visiting them!
