A stroll around a pond

The only flat ground anywhere in the area was a few miles away from the cabin.  We drove down there to walk around the pond there.

Checking out the pond.

Callie could not figure out what pose to give me.

Josh was looking for fish.

Delaney was trying to fish.

So... a funny story here..... Rylee stepped into this mud and lost a flip-flop.  We spent 20 minutes digging through the mud, trying to find the errant shoe, but it was well and truly gone, sucked into the mud.

Rinsing off after the mud-fest.

Posing, cuz he's cool like that.

Brian Head Reunion

Dan's Family had a little Reunion in Brian Head, UT the week of July 8.  We stayed in a fantastic log cabin in the middle of the mountains and it was glorious!

I was trying to get a selfie on the back porch so you could see the beautiful mountains right outside the back door.

These little guys were playing on this wood pile right across the street.

Can you see the deer?!

This is the road the girls and I tried to run.  Whew!  Running uphill at 9,500 feet above seal level was NOT happening!

this deer hung out across the street from our cabin every evening.

Rylee and cousin Ashley.

I have no idea why I took a picture of Callie eating dinner.  Or maybe Rylee was the photographer!

Roa Trip and Awesome Friends

We left Miranda's and headed for Utah.  Whoo-hoo. As I was admiring the barren landscape of New Mexico, I posted on Facebook that we were driving through.  I have an awesome friend who moved there, and she asked where we were.  I felt like a jerk that I had forgotten she lived there.  She actually lived in the very same area we were stopped for the night.  Alas, a 10pm meet-up was not a great idea.  Well, it WAS a great idea, but I knew it would mean I would stay up really late and we had 9 hours of driving scheduled for the following day, and we were truly on a schedule for it.

So our amazing friends came to see us before we left in the morning.  I was so sad we only had 45 minutes to hang out.  Sabrina truly is the most awesome person I know and I really really want to be her when I grow up.  It was nice to visit and I wish that I had coordinated to get together ahead of time.  Sigh.

All of her kids and most of mine.

A group shot with all of us!

 Sabrina ane me.

And then we were off to the endless road.  Lots and lots and lots of this.... all day long....

Fun at Aunt Miranda's

We drove to Miranda's house for a couple days before our big road trip to Utah.

She has the best swing in her yard!

The girls had a great time on it.

And I think I need one!

We had a blast shopping at Target. Rylee tried on this cat-ears headband and wants to know what she looked like.

We tagged along with them and crashed their friend's giant annual 4th of July party.

Some fun was had.

And then there was sulking and complaining that we hadn't brought swimsuits and we didn't know anyone.

So we ate delicious food and ran away.

Silly Shenanigans

 I have the best girls!
Sometimes I find selfies like this on my phone if I leave it unattended!

And I LOVE it when we go to the library and as soon as we get home, they all dive into their books.

And this little cutie just wanted a photo.
