Poor Pookie

Delaney is tired of people talking about her body.  It isn't MY fault it is so anomalous! .....oh.... wait.... it is.  I made her, so I guess it IS my fault.  Oops.

Anyway, I'll just sum it up.  Her mysterious and unrelenting pain from the last 8 months was finally sorted out.  Google didelphic uterus.

I was incredibly impressed with her doctors.  Once they identified the issue, she was in for surgery a week later.

And it was a rousing success!!  No more daily doses of Tylenol and ibuprofen.  Hooray!

She got a CT scan 2 days before surgery to make sure her lone kidney was working awhere it belonged. Spoiler alert- it was.
Unfortunately, the contrast dye or iodine or whatever they inject into you made her break out in an itchy rash that lasted nearly 2 weeks. Not cool.

Hurry up and wait!  Prepped and ready for some slicing and dicing!
(Okay, none of that.  It was laparoscopic.)

Selfie with my amazing, and incredibly brave, and pragmatic wonder woman.

What's happening around here

This cutie needed a photo for Seminary. So we took a couple.  I like her!

Marian also needed a recent photo. So we took some.  She's so cute!

I learned to make yogurt in my InstaPot and I LOVE it!

This dog!!  He always acts like no one ever feeds him!

This cool bird game and perched on our fence for a bit.

Levi is so cute when he snoozes with his pillow.

I found this amazing fabric and had to make it mine.

I finally finished this crazy quilt that I've been working on for like 6 months!  Whew!

I went to lunch with some friends from Oki.  We met up at Panera Bread. If you want to know what a $19 lunch looks like, this is it.  I can't afford to have lunch out!

And I just thought this was dang funny!

Hiking Annie's Canyon

Dad came to visit us!!  We made him go on a hike. I was actually pretty excited because Annie's Canyon was open and I had heard fun things about it.  It did not disappoint.  However, we were not smart enough..... Well, let me explain....

There are some vague signs.  They are not really helpful.  You hike along this lovely trail and it is quite enjoyable.  Eventually you reach a sign that directs you to the left for the Moderate Trail, and right for the Difficult Trail.  We thought, hey, we don't want "difficult", so we went to the left.

Unfortunately, Annie's Canyon has a circular trail and the sign was the indicator.  Had we gone to the right, we would have climbed up the slot candy, and then back down the "moderate" trail.  As it was, we climbed up the moderate trail and ended up ay the top of the canyon and totally missed the fun stuff.  You are only allowed to climb one way through the canyon, so we had to backtrack down to the sign and make the more appropriate choice.

And it was awesome!  I have even more photos than this!!  But it was necessary to document this fantastic hike, with all family members present, plus Dad!
Yep, this guy was there!

And it was a lovely hike.

We did a little detour to check out the water.

And if it can be climbed, then it must be!

Callie may not be quite so adventurous as Marian, but she still has fun.

Rylee and Marian in the tree. Too bad the lighting was wrong.

Ah, here we are at the top of the canyon.

Quite majestic and picturesque.

Oh yeah, and there were lizards to be found!

This silly goober and her Grandfather.

She is a silly goober and I love her!

I think Dad enjoyed himself.

Delaney had a really good day and had a fun morning.

Posing on the rock.

And here we are, hiking back the proper way to most appropriately enjoy this activity.

Isn't this cool?!!

She climbed up the side to reach this point.  I don't think we would have done it if a guy hadn't mentioned that people had carved pictures and stuff into the soft stone.

Group shot!

Look!  Me and my Dad!

Look how narrow it was for part of it.

Not too narrow for this guy.

My favorite people!

Yeah, I'm so cool, I needed a selfie to prove it!

Beach Day

We drove out to Carlsbad Beach to meet up with cousins during Spring Break. It was a bit too cold for swimming, and the water was pretty rough anyway.  The girls had a marvelous time anyway.  They built a magnificent sand castle and played with the tide.  It was a good day.

And I am too lazy to try to put the pictures in order, so here they are:

Someone had a birthday

As soon as I got home from my trip, we celebrated a birthday.
She requested an ice cream cake. It was delicious!

She enjoyed her loot.

And was quite cute.  But she did not want a big deal, and I didn't take many photos.  But she did have a good birthday and I love her!!
