A Little Hike

One lovely Saturday morning we went for a hike.  Well, not Callie because she had Cross Country kids to get together with.  And not Delaney, because her hip hurt.  And not Rylee, because she didn't want to go.  So Dan, Marian and I went out to check out a trailhead I drive by every Monday.  I thought it was awesome hen we discovered it is the Marian Bear trail!

If it can be climbed, it must be!

Mostly the trail looked like this.  But you could loop away from this onto smaller trails that went up the canyon side.

We took a smaller trail up the canyon side and this is what we hiked up!!  Whew!  It was tough!  And my legs were crying, and I was sweating, and it was hard work! And it was a lot of fun, once I could breathe again.

Here we are, having a good time!

Cross Country Callie!

Callie had a Cross Country Meet every Thursday afternoon for several weeks.  I took her to every one but the last.   And I took pictures at all of them.  Just because I could.  This isn't all of them, but this is my girl and she was awesome!

It was a tough race season for her but she showed up every practice and to every meet and did her best and I'm so proud of her.

Marian's Senior Photo Shoot

Another lady in the Ward with a senior hooked me up with a photographer.  The photographer wanted to scout out a new location for photos, and she gave us a great deal to be her guinea pigs. Marian decided she was willing to sacrifice her sleep and skip seminary to hit the time slot she offered, so we drove out to the beach at 7:30am on a Friday morning.

The photographer was great!  She had Marian smiling and posing and she took a lot of awesome pictures.  I just trailed after them, holding stuff.  And occasionally I took a picture of the goings ons. It was fun to have Senior Photos done.

And here are a few of my favorites from the professional photos!

Cross Country Meets!

Callie started running with the Cross Country team.  She loves everything about it except the races.
This was after her first race.  Parents were not permitted to come to this one.  It was at the high school.Callie ran well.

The rest of the races were all at a public park, so I drove the girls over and got to hang out and watch.

Start of the second race!

That's my girl!!

The course is an odd series of circles, almost like a cloverleaf.  It is complicated, but the bonus is that I can watch Callie run by 4 times without having to move very far at all.

And her glorious sprint to the finish!! So proud of this kid!

Dan's fun afternoon

Dan called one afternoon to let me know he had a chance to go for a helicopter ride, and I told him to take it!  He did.  He did not expect it to be so long.  He was expecting a 45 minute trip, but it was actually 4 hours long.  He took some photos and had a good time.  But he said it was reeeeaaly cold!
