Rylee's China Trip Part 2: Shanghai

This Neverland was pretty amazing.

Delaney was having a good time, despite the drizzle.

The Ladies and the Castle.  I did like that you could see the castle form just about everywhere in the Park.  It made it easy to orient yourself and figure out where you wanted to go.

Rylee loved the Alice in Wonderland themed garden and maze. 

And it was nestled right in front of the Castle.

But all the great picture spots were prime real estate and you had to dash in  through the crowd if you wanted a good photo.

They dashed in a little early on this chair and cut off some sweet Chinese ladies who were a little slower.  the ladies were very gracious and smiled and oohed over the blond hair.

The Tea Party table was less crowded when we went back so Rylee demanded a few more photos!

It was a really fun place.

We did ride the teacups, which we all like a lot.

They let me spin it as fast as we can go.  But these were very stiff and we could still walk when we got off.

No idea what the wagon is, but Rylee took the photo op.

There was the cool play area with this nifty shipwreck.

And a fun rowboat, which gave Rylee a wet bottom.

There was this awesome ship we got to go tour.

And it was pretty cool.

This is a poor photo to try to explain the best attraction in the Park.  It totally made Delaney's trip.  It is the Camp Discovery Challenge Trails.  You have to leave everything in your locker- including phones, so no photos of the amazingness.  They clip you into a harness and you have a rope from your chest attached to a pully above your head. You can see the reddish rails above their heads?  That's what you are clipped to and you have to walk yourself and your rope around the course.  The rope keeps you from dying as you traverse some of these things 15 feet above the rocks.You encounter a bunch of different obstacles and have three choices of difficulty.  Delaney chose the hardest on all of them!  Rylee cried and we did the easiest, which was pretty much a wooden bridge on everything.  But Delaney climbed log bridges and rope bridges and skirted the edge of a fake waterfall on a foot-wide ledge! I was incredibly impressed.  She told me she was scared, but she wanted to do it so she did.  I wouldn't have done some of them!!

Rylee's China Trip: Part 1: Shanghai

 You may know that we take the kids on a big trip when they turn 8.  It started kind of on accident and turned into a traditions.  So each kid has had their own trip when they turned 8.  Rylee turned 8 this year and we had to come up with something she would enjoy.  And it was my turn to be the one who got to go.  I don't actually enjoy traveling, so it took a bit to come up with something I was comfortable with.  Thanks to the Asian Women's Conference, I was confident about Hong Kong, and I decided to stretch myself and add a little side trip to Shanghai in there.

Riles trip was a trip to Shanghai Disneyland, followed by Hong Kong Disneyland.  We did something unprecedented and I booked actual Disney Resort Hotels for all our nights. I printed itineraries ad plans and felt (mostly!)  prepared. We were going the week of Thanksgiving to minimize school days missed.  And as an added twist, Rylee had invited Delaney to come with her.

Monday right after school we went to the Naha Airport.  Here we are killing time with tasty ice cream while we wait to board our flight.

We sprung for the exorbitant breakfast buffet.  This was my first tray.  Yummy greens, Pork dumplings and a questionable steamed bun, croissant, and an egg.  Quite tasty! 

Croissant, pancakes and an Egg egg roll.  She later went back for waffles and some other things. 

Delaney tried a bunch of things and loved it.  So it may have been worth the price.... 

The walk into the Park was fun.  We did have to take a shuttle from the resort to the Park, but it was quick and easy.

This was a cool ride.  I couldn't take photos while ON it, but I want you to see how high it went and it was fast!  I don't know if you can see some of the awesome faces on the people on it.

More Puppy Percy!

 I am sorry!  He is just too cute!  And the kids keep taking pictures.  And the pictures are too cute!

Percy loves his rope toy.  He drags it all over and wrestles with it.

Callie wanted to take him for a walk, but he is too little to walk. 

She improvised. 

Percy had a marvelous time smelling the smells and snuggling and getting a ride around the block. 

Marian does enjoy the little guy. 

And Callie found this hysterical and had to document his sleeping.
