Running Amok with Chickens

It all started with a simple question.  "Why are there chicken feathers all over the ground over there?"

It seems that at night when they were running wild during the time other little girls were being tucked into bed, that some young ladies were having a little too much fun with the chickens.  The answer may or may not have been "We took the chickens on the Zip Line."

Later, I found out Isabelle had some photos I wanted, and she let me borrow her SD card to get them, and I found these on it as well!

Pool time

No, not  real pool!  We put up the kiddie pool and the kids had a good time with it.

Why we love Grandma's house

Grandma finally got 2 outside cats.  I am deathly allergic, (as is grandma!) but outside cats make for great delight in the girls.

This is Athena.  Rylee was so happy the cat was willing to be held.

Athena is a very sweet cat.

And such a pretty kitty!

Saint Louis Temple

I had the opportunity to go to the St. Louis Temple.  I went with my dad and 3 giggly girls.  Marian got to go in with her cousins Katie and Isabelle and they seemed to have a positive experience and finished off 15 family names.  Dad and I got to do family names too and it was cool, especially because the name I had was "Marian Charlot"!

It was a 4.5 hour drive each way.  Which wasn't too horrid on the way out, but coming back with 3 very wired teenagers in the back was a little crazy and noisy!  Totally worth it!

Tree Trouble

Saturday afternoon, we drove to Mountain Home, and we brought Katie and Isabelle with us.  We had been home less than 30 minutes when Katie came in to tell me that Marian and Isabelle might be stuck in a tree.
Can you spot 2 girls in the tree?!

This is how they managed to climb a tree who's lowest branches are 7 feet up.

Hanging out and waiting for Katie to get up the nerve to climb down.

They did make it down and they thought it all great fun.

End of the Reunion

All good things must come to an end and Friday was the last day everyone got to hang out together.

There was a hike in the morning.

And thre may have been some napping in the afternoon.

Callie enjoyed hanging out with cousin Hailey.

Kera provided this awesome craft.  The kids used alcohol ink and dribbled it on glass.

Then Kera lit it on fire!

The kids all had a good time doing it.

Apparently I was too busy getting photos of fire and got no photos of finished products.

It was a super-fun project!

And they did come out looking really neat.

A kiddie show was payed for the littlies.

And the bigger kids watched a different movie.

There was playing and snacking.

And one final round of games.

I love hanging out with my family!

Playing at the Pool

After the Silver Dollar City sweat-fest, we came back to the resort and jumped in the pool.  The kids did go swim almost every day, but this was the only day I got photos.

I don't want to brag or anything, but we sure do have some great genes in our family!  Check out this cuteness! This is Miley, my baby brother's youngest.

Grandpa managed to be in the thick of things.

 Grandpa has some sweet style!

Callie had a good time helping the little ones. This is Piper.

Callie also played with the big cousins, and Aaron had a marvelous time with her.

Delaney hitched a ride on Grandpa.

Rylee discovered she could swim all the way across the (small!) pool and was so proud of herself.

Hot time at Silver Dollar City

I think all of us had season passes to Silver Dollar City.  We went on Thursday and it was HOT!  Actually, every day was hot.  But when you can hide inside it doesn't feel so bad. We spent the day baking in the heat but we had a really good time.We did take a little break in the middle of the day and we went inside the air conditioned auditorium to watch a fun magic show.

This was the first time I let the big kids wander on their own.  I stayed with Delaney and Rylee, and let Callie and Marian run off with their cousins.  I did not see them all day long!  Marian was pleased to tell me she rode every roller coaster, even the ones she use to be scared of.

Delaney, on my favorite kiddie ride.

Rylee, having fun at the indoor ball pit play area.

It was a lot of fun, but so noisy.

I had a great time in there too.  We stuffed balls into those holes and when you pressed the button, they all flew out the top.

Rylee wanted to ride this all by herself, so I stayed outside.  She was cross she had to share with another kid. She really wanted to be all by herself!

Delaney in the teacups.  Another of my favorite rides! I like to spin as fast as we can go and giggle like a lunatic!

Rylee on the Dumbo ride.  This was the first time she has wanted to go high.

Delaney and cousin Camden on the kiddie roller coaster.

Me and Miranda and Alex, on the little roller coaster!

Marian, at the end of the day, telling me about the fun she had.  It was a good day, despite the heat.

Family Reunion Photos

Tuesday morning we had family pictures.  The only ones missing were Dan and Josh, which was sad, but necessary.  The poor photographer had to try to get 39 people together and looking good.  We will know in another week how successful she was!

Collecting the children.  Well, trying!  They were having fun at the playground.

This little cutie was busy finding acorns and had to be dragged to the group.

The menfolk, waiting for the girls-only pictures to be done.

My folks with all but one of their grandchildren! I think they have 29 grandees right now.

After the photos, we all went to the Water Park.  Sadly, no one wanted to risk their cameras with all that water and there are no pictures.  But  there was a lot of fun!  And sunburn.  Too much ouchy sunburn.
